The Japanese word "tamashii" stands for means "soul" or "spirit".
When naming the Tamashii Gallery I wanted to refer to the spiritual
profound impact, feeling,
that the use of the word generally connotes.
And in other contexts a personal or collective identity behind which
a strong set of values and beliefs.
The technique of sho sugi ban (yakisugi) is
Japanese art of wood burning.
The fire preserves the wood in an environmentally friendly way,
whose beauty is enhanced with natural oils.
Using this ancient technique, I try to
to combine the power of living wood in my finished pieces,
the hardness of metal and the passage of time.
In this way, I create objects that are at once
tradition and innovate in modern design.
Inspired by nature, ancient and techniques to create works of art
